Transactions:
Acquired from Portland in three-way deal in which the Denver Nuggets sent Walter Davis to the Blazers and Terry Mills to the Nets, and the Nets sent Greg Anderson to the Nuggets. Nuggets also received a 1992 first round draft choice from the Nets and a 1993 second round draft choice from Portland and the Blazers received a 1992 second round draft choice from the Nuggets.

• Once scored 112 points while leading his Croatian league team, “Cibona” in Zagreb, Croatia, to one National Championship, three National Cups, two European Club Championships and one European Winners Cup Championship.

Named European Player of the Year in 1986, 1989, 1992 and 1993, more than any other player in history.

• Began NBA career in 1989 with the Portland Trail Blazers before being traded half way through his second season to the Nets.

• During the 1991-92 season, he led the team in scoring while averaging 20.6 points per game and was a marksman from the outside, shooting .508 from the floor, .808 from the free throw line and an astounding .444 from three-point range.

• He was even better in 1992-93, averaging 22.3 points per game, 11th best in the league, shooting .518, .870 and .449 respectively.

• In recognition of his outstanding play during the 1992-93 season, Petrovic was selected to the All-NBA Third Team.

• Died in a car accident on the German Autobahn in June of 1993.


Transactions:
Acquired from Kentucky with Mike Gale in exchange for John Roche (1/24/73).

• One of the great basketball personalities of the ABA during his five year stint.

• Spent final two seasons of ABA career with the Nets averaging 7.5 points and 5.7 rebounds in 59 total games.

• A tough, bruising player, served as a “body guard” on the floor for the legendary Julius “Dr. J” Erving.

• Died in a plane crash on June 24, 1975.


Transactions:
Acquired by Nets from Indiana in exchange for Bob Carrington and two second round draft choices (4/11/78)… Traded with a second round draft choice in exchange for Roger Phegley (2/4/80).

• One of the most explosive and intense players in Nets history, “Super” John Williamson will forever be remembered by Nets fans for his outburst that clinched the 1976 ABA Championship in which he scored 16 points in the final quarter.

• After barely making the team, Williamson was inserted into the starting line up 14 games into his rookie season and proved to be the scoring threat that the team needed to take the pressure off of Julius Erving.

• Earned ABA All-Rookie honors during Nets 1974 ABA Championship season.

• John Williamson passed away on November 30, 1996, after a long battle with kidney failure.

Signed as a free agent (8/69)… Retired 1976.

• Led the ABA in assists three consecutive seasons (1970-71, 1971-72, 1972-73), making him the first player in Nets history to lead the team in a major statistical category.

• Franchise’s all-time ABA assists leader with 3,044.

• Member of the Nets 1974 ABA title squad.

• All-ABA First Team 1971-72.

• Led Nets to 1972 ABA Finals, where they would eventually fall to the Indiana Pacers in six games.

• Served as Nets assistant coach, while also appearing in 67 games during the 1975-76 season.

• Played seven years for the Nets, averaging 12.4 points, 6.1 assists and 2.2 rebounds on .459 from the field and .819 from the line in 502 games.


Transactions:
Acquired from Virginia with Willie Sojourner in exchange for George Carter, the rights to Kermit Washington and cash (8/1/73)… Sold to Philadelphia (10/20/76).

• A true legend of the game who helped turned the game into a form of art.

• Helped lead the Nets to an ABA title in his first season with the franchise (1973-74) and to the last ABA title (1975-76).

• Was named ABA MVP in each of his three seasons with the Nets (1973-74, 1974-75 and 1975-76).

• Named ABA Playoff MVP after 1974 and 1976 postseason.

• Led the ABA in scoring three times, including twice with the Nets (1974-27.4 ppg and 1976-29.3 ppg).

• Won the dunk contest at the 1976 All-Star game on his famous foul line dunk.


Transactions:
Selected after his junior season by the New Jersey Nets in the First Round (3rd overall) of the 1981 NBA Draft. Traded by the Nets to the Portland Trail Blazers for Sam Bowie and a 1989 first round draft choice (June 24, 1989).

• Considered one of the most honored and respected players in the NBA.

• In eight seasons with the Nets became the franchise’s all-time leader in 11 of 17 categories including: points (14,440), rebounds (7,576), free throws made (2,476), free throws attempted (3,318), offensive rebounds (2,588), defensive rebounds (4,988), games played (635), field goals made (3,981), minutes played (23,100), field goals attempted (7,234) and personal fouls (2,244).

• Not only did he hold records with the Nets but also ranks among the elite on the all-time NBA list in four different categories including: fourth in games played (1,307), tenth in rebounds (13,017), eighth in minutes (42,464) and 56th in points (16,784).

• One of only eight players in NBA history to amass both 16,000 career points and 12,000 career rebounds.

• Williams was named NBA Rookie of the Year in 1982 and made three All-Star game appearances in 1982, 1983 and 1986.
